You're reading: Lutsenko has enough materials to strip some MPs of immunity

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko has said that he has enough materials to submit motions to the Verkhovna Rada on stripping immunity from a number of deputies, Radio Liberty has reported.

“I have five sources of materials on my desk, including from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, about the removal of parliamentary immunity from a number of parliamentarians. The information on the readiness of such documents corresponds to reality by 90%,” Lutsenko said during a briefing at the Prosecutor’s Office of Dnipropetrovsk region on Thursday.

The Prosecutor General said that the collected documents are sufficient to submit to the parliament for the stripping of parliamentary immunity, but “the legal department of the General Prosecutor’s Office must provide its conclusion, possibly to make technical amendments to the text.”

At the same time, Lutsenko did not specify which MPs he was talking about.
