Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko has said he is not in talks with the team of President-elect Volodymyr Zelenskiy (Ze!Team), but is ready at any time to talk with Zelenskiy.

“I have not had any consultations or talks with Ze!Team and am not conducting them, because I don’t see any sense in this. I am ready and open to cooperation with the president-elect and ready to meet with him to discuss the issues he is interested in,” Lutsenko told journalists in Kyiv on May 7.

Lutsenko said he could be replaced as prosecutor general only if he wishes it or if Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada passes a no-confidence measure.

“I am ready to step down any day… I do not rule out that possibility – the passage of a no-confidence measure [by parliament], which would lead to my dismissal,” Lutsenko said.

The prosecutor general said a member of parliament collecting signatures for the no-confidence measure has gotten two dozen signatures so far.

“I think that after the presidential elections there is no necessity to change the prosecutor general,” Lutsenko said.
