Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko during a working visit to Romania held meetings with the prosecutor general under the Supreme Court of Appeals and Justice of Romania and the chairman of the National Anti-Corruption Directorate of this country.

“During the meetings, they discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation during the processing of urgent requests for international legal assistance, the reforming of the law enforcement agencies of both states and the experience of investigating the facts of violent suppression of peaceful protest actions,” the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office said on April 27.

In addition, Lutsenko told the Romanian counterparts in detail about the key achievements of the department in the fight against organized crime and corruption.

“I believe that overcoming such negative phenomena will contribute to stepping up confidence in law enforcement agencies and the state machinery as a whole,” the Ukrainian prosecutor general said.
