Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko said seven MPs who have not submitted their electronic declaration on time are facing up to two years of imprisonment.
“I want to remind MPs Bohuslayev (Viacheslav Bohuslayev, People’s Will group), Hirschfeld (Anatoliy Hirschfeld, People’s Will group), Matios (Maria Matios, Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction), Kliyuev (Serhiy Kliyuev, independent MP), Onyschenko (Oleksandr Onyschenko, People’s Will group), Shkir (Ihor Shkir, Vidroszhennia (Revival) group) and Shukhevych (Yuriy Shukhevych, the Radical Party faction) that yesterday was the deadline for submitting e-declarations. If you submit your e-declarations soon, there will be the administrative responsibility in the form of a fine. If not, the intentional failure to submit e-declaration is a criminal offense punishable from 150 to 240 hours of community service, or imprisonment for up to two years, with the deprival of the right to hold public offices for up to three years,” Lutsenko wrote on Facebook on Monday.
In comments to his post, the prosecutor general also said that tax evasion and money laundering fall under the responsibilities of the Prosecutor General’s Office and the State Fiscal Service.
On Oct. 31, Deputy Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention Ruslan Radetsky said that MP Yuriy Shukhevych of the Radical Party, MP Oleksandr Onyschenko wanted by the Ukrainian police and independent MP Serhiy Kliuyev wanted by Interpol are among the lawmakers who have not filed electronic declarations on time.
According to him, the late submission of e-declaration incurs fines ranging from 50 to 100 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens.
