You're reading: Lutsenko tells Atlantic Council delegation about successes in fighting corruption, NABU cooperation

On Friday, August 31, 2018, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko met with an American delegation headed by former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine John Herbst, who is currently director of the Washington, D.C.-based Atlantic Council’s Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center. Members of the U.S. Congress and Senate attended.

“Lutsenko informed the representatives of the Atlantic Council about successes and challenges in the fight against corruption, outlined the achievements of the department over the past two years, reported on the progress of the reform process and prospects for the successful completion of judicial reform, cooperation between the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO), National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the results achieved in the investigation of notorious criminal proceedings, et cetera,” the PGO’s press service said.

In turn, according to the information, representatives of the Atlantic Council thanked Lutsenko for providing substantive information and positively assessed achievements.

“As a result of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in the further development of cooperation on the principles of transparency and openness,” the PGO’s press service said.
