You're reading: Lutsenko’s spokeswoman says his $5 million villa purchase on the Seychelles is a lie

Information circulated in Ukrainian media news outlets that Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko has allegedly bought a $5 million villa in the Seychelles Islands archipelago is not true, Lutsenko’s spokeswoman Larysa Sarhan said. She added that Lutsenko’s lawyers are preparing lawsuits for spreading false information and will demand moral compensation.

Sarhan wrote on her Facebook page that several Ukrainian news agencies were involved in “reproduction of the purely fabricated story from a suspicious website in Singapore.” The article is about Lutsenko’s purchase of a $5 million in the Seychelles.

“Firstly, it is an outright lie. Lutsenko’s lawyers are preparing lawsuits for spreading false information. And, secondly, there will be a demand for moral compensation,” she said on Sept. 24.

Sarhan said any compensation awarded would be given to Ukrainian military hospitals.

She also suggested that media news representatives would blame Lutsenko for pressuring media.

“But if he refuses to sue them, how can he protect himself from such an ugly lie?”
