You're reading: Macron: We want prompt talks in Normandy format, expect OSCE report

French President Emmanuel Macron said Russian President Vladimir Putin and he favor the soonest possible organization of negotiations in the Normandy format with a report by OSCE representatives.

“Our wish is, which President Putin will confirm, we would like negotiations in the Normandy format to be conducted in the near future so we can discuss all issues,” Macron said at a press conference following Russian-French negotiations on May 29.

“In this Normandy format, we would like to hear a report by the OSCE on the events that are taking place [in Ukraine],” he said.

“We exchanged our views on this matter. I said for my part that I would like us to achieve de-escalation of this process within the framework of the Minsk process,” he said.
