In Lviv, they plan to create a center for mass vaccination of the population, said head of Lviv Regional State Administration Maksym Kozytsky following an online meeting with Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko.

“While it was a question of creating such a center at the Arena Lviv stadium – this facility most closely meets the requirements of the Ministry of Health for setting up such a center,” Kozytsky wrote on Facebook.

According to him, at this time it is necessary to settle a number of organizational issues, including the provision of the future center with personnel, refrigeration equipment, computer equipment, stable Internet communication, security, etc.

At the same time, Kozytsky emphasized that the disadvantage in the situation with the stadium is that the stadium is actually located outside the city limits, which may complicate the travel of people to the vaccination center. In this regard, the regional authorities will consider alternative options for the location of vaccination centers, “in order to bring them closer to Lviv and ensure unhindered access of the population from the outskirts of Lviv or districts of the region.”

According to Oleh Kohut, Deputy Head of the Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health in Lviv region, 73,927 people were vaccinated in Lviv region, of which 3,937 have already received two doses of the coronavirus vaccine.
