You're reading: Media: Appeal Court leaves ex-prosecutor Sus under house arrest

Kyiv Court of Appeals has left unchanged the preventive measure in the form of house arrest with the obligation to wear of an electronic bracelet for former deputy head of the department for high-profile economic cases of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine Dmytro Sus, Censor.NET online news portal reported from the courtroom.

As reported, the detectives of the NABU, under the procedural leadership of the prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, detained Dmytro Sus on July 25 on the territory of the international airport Boryspil. He was detained due to the facts, the pretrial investigation of which the detectives have been working with in various criminal trials since April 2016.

Sus is accused of the failure to declare a foreign car in his e-declaration, as well as the seizure of others’ property during the conduct of investigative actions in several criminal proceedings.

On July 27, Solomyansky district court of Kyiv sent Sus under house arrest for two months. The Prosecutor General’s Office asked for an arrest with the possibility of a UAH 5 million bail, but the court partially granted the prosecutor’s office request.

According to the court’s ruling, Sus will be under house arrest in Khmelnytsky.

According to his defense lawyer, Sus has been wearing an electronic tracking device since July 28 and has been complying with all his obligations.
