The main investigative bureau of Ukraine’s National Police has said all court decisions regarding the Pavel Sheremet assassination case have been classified in order to protect persons involved in the criminal case.

The Kyiv-based e-zine Ukrainska Pravda on Sept. 22 learned of the move in a response to a query from the police.

“The resolution in the criminal case mentioned in your query cannot be disclosed in line with efforts to defend the life, residence, health and property of persons involved in the criminal case,” said the investigative bureau, which did not divulge any details about the investigation.

“The probe continues and any leak of information could negatively impact the investigation,” the bureau replied.

The press service of the National Police said the new non-disclosure measure pertained to all persons involved in the case, including witnesses, investigators and judges involved in the case.

Belarusian journalist Pavel Sheremet was killed on July 20, 2016 in the center of Kyiv when the car he was driving exploded, killing him within minutes. The car belonged to Ukrainska Pravda co-founder Olena Prytula.
