German Chancellor Angela Merkel at a meeting with heads of Verkhovna Rada factions has said that Ukraine must eliminate crony economy, Head of the Samopomich faction Oleh Bereziuk has said.
“The Chancellor made this statement clearly at the end of the meeting with the leaders of parliamentary factions, looking at some members of the Verkhovna Rada with a smile. She directly said that the clan economy should not be supported,” the Samopomich party said in a press release.
The leader of the Samopomich faction also said that Merkel has a very liberal position regarding the Nord Stream. “Even in her answers she said that we still have to look at it,” the press service said.
In general, according to Bereziuk, the conversation of Merkel with the Ukrainian parliamentarians was productive and useful, although at the same time tough and frank.
