There were no citizens of Ukraine onboard the plane that crashed near Havana (Cuba), spokesman for the Consular Service Department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Vasyl Kyrylych has said.

“According to the Cuban authorities, there were no Ukrainian citizens onboard the crashed plane,” he wrote on Twitter on Saturday.

As reported, on May 18, a Boeing 737 passenger jet crashed soon after taking off from Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport. There were more than 100 people onboard.

The Cuban state television said the jet was performing a domestic flight to Holguin.
