U.S.-based Frontera Resources and Longfellow propose projects under Production Sharing Agreements (PSA) for the exploration and production of hydrocarbons, including unconventional gas, from subsoil areas in Odesa and Poltava regions, the Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Ministry has reported.

The interdepartmental commission for concluding and implementing PSAs, headed by Energy Minister Ihor Nasalyk, on June 23 admitted applications from the two companies regarding the proposed subsoil plots, the ministry said on Friday.

What is more, the commission instructed to hold consultations on the optimization of the size of the section Frontera Resources is interested in.

In addition, the interdepartmental commission started the consideration of applications from Kyiv-based LLC Navigator Komplekt to implement a project for the search for and production of hydrocarbons under PSA conditions, involving such areas as Berestianska, Smelianskaya, Romanivska, Shubynska, Novostepanivska (in Lviv, Kharkov, and Dnipropetrovsk regions).

The ministry recommended that the three companies hold consultations with the relevant local councils for the implementation of the above-mentioned projects.
