The Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on resolving the situation in the east of Ukraine at a meeting on July 2 was unable to make any progress on the ceasefire and the exchange of persons held due to the position of the Russian side.
“In connection with the position of the Russian Federation, no progress was made neither on the introduction of the “grain ceasefire,” nor on the release of the persons held,” press secretary of the Ukrainian representative in the TCG Leonid Kuchma, Darka Olifer, wrote on her Facebook page following a meeting in Minsk.
