The European Commission (EC) is actively working on provision of assistance in settling gas supplies issue and transit of natural gas by Russia’s Gazprom to the European Union states across Ukraine and it is ready to resume trilateral talks Ukraine-EC-Gazprom, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and European Commission Vice President Federica Mogherini has said.

The European Commission has discussed the recent decision of Gazprom to suspend prepaid gas supplies to Ukraine, she said. Gazprom must fulfill its contractual liabilities, Mogherini said, adding that the European Commission is actively working in this direction.

“We are ready to resume trilateral talks,” she said at a joint briefing with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Kyiv on Monday.
