More than 5,000 explosive items have been withdrawn in the area of the 6th Arsenal of the Defense Ministry near Ichnya (Chernihiv region), where an emergency with fire and explosions occurred on October 9, the press service of the State Emergency Service has reported.
“All 39 settlements located around the arsenal were checked and cleared of ammunition. Some 34 of 80 demining sites were cleared; the 16-km contamination zone was reduced to 10-km. zone. Some 5, 653 explosive items were withdrawn (1,012 – on October 18), 270 messages from the population about the detection of ammunition (5- on October 18) have been worked out,” the State Emergencies Service said.
