You're reading: Moroz says he withdraws from presidential race in Ukraine

Ex-parliament speaker, one of the founders and leader of the Socialist Party of Ukraine and one of the presidential candidates in Ukraine Oleksandr Moroz, 75, has announced he is withdrawing from the presidential race.

“At its meeting, the party’s political council, which nominated my candidacy for the presidency of Ukraine, analyzed the course of the election campaign and reasonably concluded that unprecedented blatant election fraud is being prepared. The party’s leaders consider it inappropriate to continue my participation in the campaign – a political farce, and thus to accept its essence,” Moroz said on Facebook on March 27.

From that moment, Moroz asked not to consider him a candidate for the presidency of Ukraine.
