The Russian Foreign Ministry has described reports alleging that Russia might exchange Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov for its citizens incarcerated in the United States as misinformation.
“We were surprised to hear about the allegedly planned exchange of Oleg Sentsov, who had been sentenced in Russia for plotting a terror attack, for our compatriots incarcerated in the United States. There is no such agreement. This is misinformation,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a press briefing on October 4.
