You're reading: Moscow says Ukraine willing to buy 1.5 to 4 billion cubic meters of gas

BRUSSELS – Ukraine expressed readiness to buy 1.5 to 4 billion cubic meters of natural gas in winter and Russia is ready to deliver under the existing contract, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak told reporters following the gas talks held by Russia, Ukraine and the EU in Brussels.

“Ukraine has expressed readiness to buy 1.5 to 4 billion cubic meters of gas during the winter period so to secure reliable supplies to Ukrainian customers and transit shipments for European customers. Russia and Gazprom, for their part, confirmed readiness to deliver Russian natural gas to Ukraine under the existing contract, which is effective until 2020, through the year 2019,” Novak said.
