Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deputy from the Radical Party faction Andriy Lozovy has asked the Rada’s rules committee to support the motion of the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) on stripping him of immunity.

“Dear members of the committee, I ask you to support the idea of bringing me to criminal liability,” he said at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on regulations on July 4, where the PGO’s request on stripping Lozovy’s immunity due to tax evasion in the amount of Hr 1.7 million is being considered.

Lozovoy said the PGO request about providing the consent of the parliament to bringing him to criminal liability is political blackmail and an attempt to discredit both him and his party.
