MP Oleksiy Mushak (Petro Poroshenko Bloc) has gathered 47 signatures from lawmakers, two more than the minimum required, to file a lawsuit to the Constitutional Court to annul the moratorium to sell farmland.

“For the first time in the history of the parliament 47 signatures of lawmakers demanding to revoke the restrictions to sell and purchase land have been gathered… Tomorrow I will continue gathering signatures. This case shows there is are many economic liberal deputies in parliament who have abandoned Communist dogmas,” he wrote on his Facebook page last week.

Mushak said that the submission of the lawsuit to the Constitutional Court would stir up the discussion of the bill on farmland turnover.

Earlier Mushak registered bill No. 5535 on farmland turnover. The bill proposes gradually open the land market and annul the moratorium from July 1, 2017.
