The National Police of Ukraine has issued a denial of the allegations about personal data leakage from the Diia application.

“The police have held a range of investigative actions on the criminal case and did not discover any cases of cyberattacks on the automated information retrieval system Diia,” it said.

The National Police recalled that the Main Investigations Department opened the criminal case under Part 2 of Article 361 (unauthorized interference with the work of electronic computing machines (computers), automated systems, computer networks or telecommunication networks) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The work of the resource, which illegally disseminated citizens’ personal data, was blocked.

According to the pretrial investigation, the information was disseminated in social media, in particular in Telegram channels. The information has signs of fragmentary data compiled from various sources, including the Opendatabot service, which operates in popular messengers and provides latest data about companies, the National Police said.

“The allegations about cyberattacks on the Diia applications and its poor protection against cyberattacks proved unfounded: the Cyberpolice Department did not detect any cyberincidents,” it said.

As reported, the National Police of Ukraine discovered the leak of personal data of Ukrainian citizens in an anonymous Telegram channel.
