You're reading: National Security Council orders audit of Ukroboronprom

The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) has ordered an audit of the activities of Ukroboronprom state concern and its member companies with the involvement of foreign experts, NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov has said.

“According to the results of the meeting, there was the instruction to audit the activities of the Ukroboronprom group of companies and the concern member enterprises with the involvement of foreign experts,” the NSDC press service said citing Turchynov.

The council also recommended that the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the State Investigation Bureau “carry out an inspection and give a legal assessment of violations in the field of defense procurement outlined in mass media and inform the public about the results.”

Earlier on March 6, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, when opening the NSDC meeting, stated Ukraine is initiating a comprehensive international audit of Ukroboronprom state concern, including a comprehensive audit of all signed contracts.
