The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) will appeal a ruling of Kyiv’s business court issued on February 21 that satisfied a claim of Skorzonera LLC against the central bank and terminated several mortgage loan agreements, under which the claimant acted as a guarantor for debt liabilities of PrivatBank to the NBU on refinancing credits, the press service of the NBU has told Interfax-Ukraine.

“The National Bank will appeal against the ruling of Kyiv’s business court during the term prescribed in the procedural legislation,” the press service said.

According to the unified register of court rulings, the court established that the NBU was able to write off the debt on refinancing loans from accounts of the nationalized PrivatBank, but the central bank did not do this. In addition, when the agreements were signed one cannot expect that the bank will be nationalized in the future.

According to the public register of ownership rights to immovable property, the mortgaged property is property where the Bukovel ski resort is located.

According to the public register of companies, the ultimate beneficiaries of Skorzonera LLC are Ihor Kolomoisky and Hennadiy Boholiubov.

The Bukovel ski resort was transferred to the balance sheet of PrivatBank during its nationalization.
