The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has filed a counterclaim against former co-owner of PrivatBank Ihor Kolomoisky, according to a ruling of the Pivnichny economic court of appeals issued on August 8 and published in the unified public register of court rulings on August 12.

In his lawsuit against the NBU, Kolomoisky asked the court to invalidate his guarantee on a refinancing loan in the amount of UAH 4.259 billion attracted from the National Bank.

According to court materials, Kolomoisky believes that the persons authorized by the NBU did not have sufficient authority to conclude a loan agreement due to the lack of a quorum at a meeting of the central bank’s board.
