The first hearing in the case of the downing of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 in Donbas in the summer of 2014 will take place at a court in the Netherlands on March 9; charges have been brought against four defendants, Yelena Kutyina, a lawyer representing one of the defendants, told Interfax.

“The National Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Netherlands brought charges and issued summonses to four suspects in the MH17 case (Russians Igor Girkin (Strelkov), Sergei Dubinsky, Oleg Pulatov, and Ukrainian Leonid Kharchenko),” Kutyina said.

The first hearing is scheduled for March 9, she said. At the same time, she did not clarify whether the defendants intended to appear for trial in the Netherlands.
