You're reading: No arms detonation at Ichnya ammo depot, fire localized

There were no cases of detonation of ammunition in the territory of the 6th Arsenal of the Defense Ministry near the town of Druzhba, Ichnyansky District, Chernihiv region for the past day, the State Emergencies Service has reported.

“No explosions have been recorded on the territory of the 6th arsenal of ammunition storage for the past 24 hours and from the beginning of the current day,” the official website of the State Emergencies Service said on October 23 morning.

It is also noted that at 6:30 p.m. on October 22, 2018, the leader responsible for the fire extinguishing at the arsenal announced it had been localized.

There are no killed or injured people as a result of the emergency.

As earlier reported, more than 12,000 people were evacuated in the morning of October 9, due to a fire and explosions at an ammunition depot near the village of Druzhba of Ichnia district in Ukraine’s Chernihiv region.

More than 12,000 people were evacuated and airspace within a 30-kilometer radius has been closed. Railway and road traffic near the ammunition depot was blocked. No casualties have been reported.
