The Department of Consular Service of Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry has said there is no information about casualties of Ukrainian citizens caught in the earthquake that shook Greece and Turkey.

“Earthquake in Greece, Turkey. The consul says that as of 08:00 there is no information about victims,” the department said on Twitter.

Preliminary information from both consuls speaks about the absence of casualties among Ukrainians, representative of the Department of Consular Service of Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry Vasyl Kyrylych told Interfax-Ukraine.

“According to preliminary data, the consuls in both countries report that there are no injured citizens of Ukraine,” he told Interfax-Ukraine on July 21.

At the same time Kyrylych added that the consuls were still clarifying the information on the possible casualties among Ukrainians.

“The consuls are keeping in touch with the rescue services and local authorities of Turkey and Greece,” he said.
