The Rostov regional court has not received from the Obolonsky District Court in Kyiv a request to help with organizing a videolink with former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych, a spokesperson for the Russian court told Interfax on May 17.

“There has been no request from the Ukrainian court, and therefore no videolink will be organized on May 18,” the spokesperson said.

It was reported earlier that the Rostov regional court was ready to organize the videolink with the Kyiv court to ensure Yanukovych’s participation in the preliminary hearing on May 18 of the treason case, provided the Ukrainian court has requested it to do so in accordance with the European Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters.
