You're reading: Normandy Four leaders’ advisors to meet on August 28

A meeting of political advisers within the Normandy format for negotiations on Donbas may take place on August 28, well-known journalist Serhiy Harmash, invited by the Ukrainian side to join the TCG work as a representative of Russia-backed separatists, told the Obozrevatel online publication.

“The Normandy meeting at the level of the heads of foreign policy advisers is scheduled for August 28,” Harmash said.

According to him, Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak will take part in this meeting from the Ukrainian side, and Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia Dmitry Kozak from the Russian side.

“The meeting of political advisers is Yermak, Kozak… This is even more interesting, it seems to me, because there should be Kozak, and he wrote that he will not take part, so we will see. It will be strange if he is not there. If only three foreign policy advisers meet, this will mean that Russia withdrew from Normandy,” he said.

As reported earlier, Yermak called Kozak’s letter about the futility of further negotiations between the advisors to the leaders of the Normandy Four as a manifestation of a diplomatic game and indicated that the negotiation process continues.
