Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Tymoshenko has said that a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) regarding the security situation on the administrative border with the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, as well as in Kherson, Zaporizhia, Odesa, Mykolaiv and Donetsk regions will take place in a few weeks.
“A meeting of the NSDC was initiated by the president. I think it will take place in a few weeks. Yesterday, at a meeting [on the security situation in Kherson], tasks were distributed to the heads of regions, the NSDC secretary, the head of the President’s Office and deputies on various issues. Therefore, we are preparing for the meeting,” Tymoshenko said on the air of the Ukraina 24 TV channel.
He added that on April 27, at a meeting of the President with the NSDC Secretary, heads of regions and heads of law enforcement agencies of these regions, issues of ensuring security in the country, cooperation of law enforcement agencies, military and territorial defense were raised.
The deputy head of the President’s Office also expressed hope for the adoption of the law on territorial defense soon.
