Some 347,100 people and 57,819 vehicles crossed the administrative border with Russia-occupied Crimea in Ukraine’s Kherson region in both directions in July, the Ukrainian Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons has said.
“Compared to June, the number of civilians who crossed [the border] increased by 33.31 percent, and the number of vehicles that crossed [the border] grew by 38.09 percent,” the ministry said on its website.
The Chonhar checkpoint was crossed by 83,754 people and 14,861 vehicles that were heading towards Ukrainian-controlled territory, while 94,096 people and 15,713 vehicles crossed the border in the opposite direction.
The Kalanchak checkpoint was crossed by 66,355 people and 7092 vehicles heading for Ukraine and 75,832 people and 7,965 vehicles heading for Crimea.
The Chaplynka checkpoint was crossed by 11,897 people and 5,601 vehicles heading for Ukraine and 15,166 people and 6,587 heading for Crimea.
