The number of laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine has risen to 196, the Ministry of Health reported on March 26.
The figure has grown sharply in just 24 hours. On March 25, the number stood at 145, according to the ministry.
Five Ukrainians have died from the novel coronavirus since March 3, when the first case was identified in the country. One patient has recovered, according to the ministry.
However, on March 26, the governor of Chernivtsi Oblast, Sergii Osachuk, said in a video statement that three more people had recovered in his region. “Two adults and a child,” he said.
There are 47 confirmed cases in Chernivtsi Oblast as of March 26.
