You're reading: Number of wounded people in Grad attack on Novoluhanske grows to eight people

The number of wounded people after an attack on the Ukrainian-controlled village of Luhanske in Donetsk region with the use of Grad multiple rocket launchers has increased to eight, the media liaison office of Donetsk region’s police has said.

“Eight people have been wounded as a result of the attack, 22 houses have been damaged,” the police said on December 18 evening.

The wounded people were rushed to hospital.

Pavlo Zhebrivsky, the head of the Donetsk regional military and civil administration, in turn confirmed in an update that eight people had been wounded.

“As of 8:15 p.m. local time, there had been eight victims: one is in hospital in Bakhmut, the other is [receiving medical treatment] in Svitlodarsk,” he wrote.

As Interfax-Ukraine reported earlier, the incident happened on December 18 evening.

“At about 5:00 p.m. on December 18, the Russian-backed separatists deployed in the town of Horlivka launched a barbaric, cynical attack from multiple rocket launcher systems on the village of Novoluhanske, which is in Luhansk sector. Unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians and the destruction of residential buildings in Novoluhanske. Information about the number of victims and the degree of the destruction is being verified,” the Ukrainian Army HQ wrote on Facebook on December 18 evening.
