Top managers of public joint-stock company Odesa Port-Side Plant has asked Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman to set the beneficial price for the plant or include it in the production chain of a gas producer, First Deputy Board Chairman Mykola Shchurikov has said.

“We have sent an official letter to Groysman. We have proposed two options for settling the situation: to set the special price of natural gas for Odesa Port-Side Plant as the nitric fertilizer enterprise of the public sector… or allow the plant to participate in production of natural gas or other forms of cooperation with Ukrainian gas producers,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

Shchurikov said that both options are imperfect, but if no measures were taken, the enterprise would stop and this would result in the social crisis in the region.

Earlier Head of the State Property Fund Ihor Bilous said that the plant could be halted or transferred to management of a company with gas resources after a failure to sell it.
