Odesa seaport in January-May 2018 handled 9.269 million tonnes of cargo, which was 11.18 percent down year-over-year.

In January-May 2018, the port reduced the transshipment of exported cargo by 10.72 percent, to 6.971 million tonnes, while the handing of imported cargo increased by 9.5 percent, to 1.736 million tonnes, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority said.

Transit freight shipments fell by 46.7 percent, to 541,220 tonnes, those of coastal cargo shipment fell by 24.6 percent, to 21,150 tonnes.

Transshipment of liquid cargo decreased by 39.1 percent, to 590,870 tonnes, that of non-bulk freight fell by 5.28 percent, to 4.897 million tonnes, dry cargo fell by 11.99 percent, to 3.781 million tonnes.

Last year, it handled 24.12 million tonnes of cargo, which was 4.48 percent down on 2016.

Odesa port is located on an area of 109.5 hectares.

The port accepts vessels with lengths of up to 270 meters and maximum draughts of 13 meters. The total length of the port’s berths exceeds eight kilometers.
