You're reading: One soldier killed, four wounded in morning attack in Luhansk Oblast

The firefight, which started near Novotoshkivske, Orikhove, Krymske and Khutir Vilny (Luhansk Oblast) on Feb. 18 morning, is over with one Ukrainian serviceman reported killed and four wounded in action, the press service of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) has said.

“The JFO detachments gave an adequate response to the enemy and kept full control over the situation. Regrettably, one Ukrainian serviceman was killed and four suffered minor injuries. They are receiving medical aid,” reads a statement posted by the JFO press service on Facebook at 10:20 on Feb. 18.

According to the press service, one Russia-occupation fighter was killed and five seriously injured during the firefight.

“The enemy requested a ceasefire. Ukrainian defenders kept their positions,” the JFO said, adding that the reserve detachments of the JFO are ready for action and that the situation was fully controlled.
