The Russia-backed separatists have committed 84 ceasefire violations in Donbas over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian military press center said on its Facebook page on March 23 morning.

In the Mariupol sector, Ukrainian military positions in Shyrokyne saw the largest number of attacks by the separatists using 120mm and 82mm mortars, infantry fighting vehicle weapons, grenade launchers of different systems and large-caliber machineguns, the press center said.

In the Donetsk sector, the heaviest shelling was recorded in Avdiyivka, where Ukrainian military positions were attacked using mortars, grenade launchers, machineguns and anti-tank missile systems, the press center said. Militant forces fired 152mm tube artillery near Zaitseve. Grenade launchers and large-caliber machineguns were used against the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defense posts near Luhanske, Troyitske and Verkhniotoretske.

In the Luhansk sector, the largest number of attacks was reported in Novozvanivka, where separatists used 120mm mortars, grenade launchers and machineguns against Ukrainian positions. The militants fired 82mm mortars on Ukrainian positions near Krymske and used grenade launchers and small arms near Stanytsia Luhanska.
