A Ukrainian military soldier sustained wounds as a result of an attack by Russia-backed separatists in Donbas on Feb. 11, the Ukrainian military said.

According to the report, separatists opened fire at the positions of Ukrainian troops nine times, including five times with the use of weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements.

Militants opened fire at the positions of the Ukrainian military near the village of Hnutove in the Mariupol district twice, using 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, once near the village of Pavlopil in the Volnovakha district in the Donetsk region using heavy machine-gun grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns and small arms, and twice near the village of Pisky of the Yasynuvata district using large-caliber machine guns and small arms. Also, a stronghold of a Ukrainian unit near Pisky came under fire from 120-mm mortars.

Separatists attacked the positions of the Ukrainian military near the urban-type settlement of Novotoshkivske in the Popasna district in the Luhansk region, using 82-mm mortars. Ukrainian positions were attacked with automatic grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns near the Khutor Vilny village on the outskirts of the populated settlement of Zolote-4.

“The defending units fired organic weapons in retaliation to the enemy’s fire…” the update says. The situation in the remains under the control of the Ukrainian military.
