One Ukrainian soldier was wounded on April 8 following shell attacks committed by the Russia-backed illegal armed formations who fight in the east of Ukraine, Joint Forces Operation (JFO) reported on Facebook.

“One Ukrainian serviceman of the JFO was wounded,” reads a report.

As of 5.00 p.m. on April 8, the armed groups of the Russian Federation violated the ceasefire seven times, three times it used 120 mm and 82 mm mortars not prescribed by the Minsk agreements. During the shelling, the groups also used grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machine guns and small arms.

In the area of responsibility of the Skhid (East) task force, the separatists mounted three attacks, in the area of responsibility of the Pivnich (North) task force they mounted four attacks.

“All the criminal actions of Russian mercenaries received an adequate response from the Ukrainian military, targeted fire at the enemy’s strongpoints resolutely suppressed its activity. The enemy’s casualties are being specified,” the report said.

The situation remains stable, the ceasefire is observed over all disengagement areas.

There were no cases of coronavirus infection among the personnel of the JFO.
