MP from the Opposition Bloc parliamentary faction Taras Kozak, who owns TV Channel 112 Ukraine and NewsOne, has acquired the ZIK Channel’s television broadcasters and is now creating the Novosti Media Holding.

“Ukrainian politician Taras Kozak has become the new and sole owner of the television broadcasters of the ZIK Channel – the Most TV and the New Communications broadcasting companies. Thus, Kozak’s media asset includes three channels: 112 Ukraine, NewsOne, and ZIK,” the Novosti Media Holding’s press service said on June 14.

“The acquisition of the ZIK Channel is a meaningful and pragmatic step for me. Information broadcasting in Ukraine today is ahead of many of the world’s major channels in its mobility, audience interest, image. Having acquired ZIK, I can build the largest network of information broadcasters that in terms of resources makes they are less costly, and at the same time they create a large capitalization as an asset, and this asset is called the Novosti Information Media Holding, Kozak said.

To develop and manage the media holding, he invited media producer Oleksiy Semenov, who called such a proposal “a great honor.”

Taras Kozak is in the top ten of the electoral list of the Opposition Platform – For Life Party.

In December 2018, Kozak reported on the acquisition of nine companies of the 112 Ukraine Group, assessing their value at the date of acquisition at Hr 72.87 million.

According to his report on significant changes in property status in the register of assets declarations of Dec. 14, he had bought all nine companies from the Swiss company Plirofories AG.
