A member of the Special Monitoring Mission of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE SMM), Vitalie Zara, who was killed in a road accident in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, on Jan.18, was a citizen of Moldova.
“Vitalie Zara, a Moldovan citizen, had been working for the Luhansk Monitoring Team since July 2015, serving in Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk and Kadiyivka,” the OSCE SMM wrote on Facebook on Jan.19.
It was reported that Zara was traveling in a taxi in Kramatorks on Jan.18 morning when the car accident took place. The SMM monitor died at the scene.
