First deputy head of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s special monitoring mission in Ukraine (OSCE SMM), Alexander Hug, is travelling to Donbas this evening after the security situation there has seriously worsened in the past 24 hours.
“He will assess the security situation along the contact line and its impact on civilians, and discuss with interlocutors measures to reduce tension,” the SMM stated on its website on May 17 afternoon.
