You're reading: OSCE SMM records over 7,000 ceasefire breaches in Donbas in past week

The number of ceasefire breaches committed on the Donbas contact line has grown 15 percent week-on-week, Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) Alexander Hug said at a press briefing in Kyiv on August 18.

The OSCE SMM recorded 7,272 ceasefire breaches over the week, which was 15% more than the week before, Hug said.

In all, the mission has observed 293,816 ceasefire breaches since the beginning of the year, he said.
