The number of shellings along the disengagement line in eastern Ukraine increased in the past 24 hours, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission said in a report as of 7.30 p.m. of Sept. 29.

“The SMM noted an increase in the number of ceasefire violations recorded in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The SMM observed more ceasefire violations in Donetsk region, with 198 explosions compared with the previous reporting period (144 explosions). All but ten of the 198 explosions were recorded in the area of Avdiyivka-Yasynuvata-Donetsk airport. In the Luhansk region, the SMM recorded 222 explosions compared with six the previous day,” the mission said in a report published on its website.

In addition to that, the observers continued to record violations of the Minsk Agreements regarding withdrawal of heavy weapons. In particular, the SMM observed anti-tank guided missiles fitted on an infantry fighting vehicle in government-controlled Stanytsia Luhanska and six tanks in the territory controlled by the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR).

The report also said that the OSCE observers faced the restrictions to their freedom of movement in two areas designated for disengagement of forces and hardware, near the town of Zolote, Popasna district, and the village of Petrivske, Kremensky district.
