MINSK – The Organization for security and co-operation in Europe (OSCE) has welcome the announcement by Ukraine’s president-elect Volodymyr Zelenskiy of an intention further to continue the Minsk negotiating process and act in the framework of the “Normandy format” involving Russia, France, Germany and Ukraine.

“I welcome president-elect Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s announcement that – I quote – ‘in any event we will act in the Normandy format and continue the Minsk process,'” Martin Sajdik, OSCE special representative in the Trilateral contact Group, told reporters in Minsk on April 24.

“On April 21, sixty prisoners not related to the conflict were transferred from the certain districts in Lunahsk region to serve the remainder of their sentences on territory controlled by the Ukrainian government,” Sajdik said.

The main topic of discussion of the security subgroup was the parties’ reaffirming their commitment to ceasefire he said.

It was reported that during the runoff Zelenskiy said that Normandy-format talks will continue as will the work in the Minsk format, but the latter needed a reset and new appointments.
