A total of 4,670 Russian citizens have been denied entry to Ukraine since the beginning of 2019, head of the press service for the Ukrainian State Border Guard Andriy Demchenko said.

“Thirty-three Russian citizens were denied entry over the past 24 hours. Since the beginning of this year the total is almost 4,670 citizens already,” Demchenko told Interfax-Ukraine on July 15.

Among the main reasons for the denials was people not being able to confirm the purpose of their visit, he said.

“There were also people who had illegally visited the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. If such people were found at the border, we denied them entry. That aside, this envisages a ban on entry to Ukraine for a period of at least three years,” Demchenko said.
