The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted as a whole and as a basis draft law No. 1030 on a 90-day deferral of penalties for violating the procedure for importing vehicles (imported from January 1, 2015) to Ukraine.

According to a correspondent of the Interfax-Ukraine agency, the document was supported by 284 deputies with the quorum being 226 votes at a plenary meeting on Thursday.

“The bill itself caused a discussion in our team, but the president made a decision and introduced the bill that we support … This postponement until the end of the year, which we offer both for fines and for simplified registration of cars, is the last decision. More after that we won’t return to this issue,” Danylo Hetmantsev, the head of the committee on finance, taxation and customs policy, said presenting the document in parliament.

As reported, harsh sanctions for violation of the rules for importing cars with foreign registration came into force on August 22.
