The key issues for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada at the next plenary week on September 18-21 will be the submission to the Constitutional Court of draft amendments to the basic law regarding the course of Ukraine for integration into the EU and NATO, as well as the renewal of the Central Election Commission (CEC) members, chairman of the parliament Andriy Parubiy has stated.

“Perhaps the most important issue of the next week will be the introduction of amendments to the Constitution. I remind that this is only the first stage, because the first vote provides for sending the bill to the Constitutional Court,” Parubiy said in an interview with the Rada TV channel.

The speaker noted that after the Constitutional Court provides conclusions on the bill, a vote will take place, the quorum of which is 226 votes to approve the draft law as a basis. Then, at the next session, the Rada will consider the approval of constitutional changes as a whole, which requires no less than 300 votes of people’s deputies.

According to Parubiy, another important issue of the next plenary week of the parliament will be the renewal of the CEC members.

According to the schedule, the next plenary week of the Verkhovna Rada will be held on September 18-21.
