Verkhovna Rada Chairman Andriy Parubiy has submitted to the Parliamentary Committee on Procedure Rules the Prosecutor General’s request on granting consent to bring Opposition Bloc MPs Serhiy Dunayev, Oleksandr Vilkul and Dmytro Kolesnikov to criminal liability.

Parubiy at the plenary session of the parliament on Sept. 18 informed the parliamentarians that he had received motions from the Prosecutor General on these deputies.

“I am promptly submitting the documents for consideration to the committee on procedure rules. I am convinced that we must support the Prosecutor General’s motions with our votes. If an MP is innocent, he can prove his innocence in court like any citizen,” he said.

Earlier on this day, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko submitted a motion to the Verkhovna Rada on granting consent to prosecute Opposition Bloc MPs Serhiy Dunayev, Oleksandr Vilkul and Dmytro Kolesnikov.

The prosecutor general posted the scanned copies of respective documents dated Sept. 17 on his Facebook page on Sept. 18.
